Built by a home-service company that was tired of losing jobs to the inbox.
LeadBolt did not start as a software idea. It started as a problem with a ladder.
Origin
The tool the company wished it had
A home-service company in Texas was spending real money on Yelp Ads and getting real leads from them. It was also getting a message from a marketing agency every other day offering 20 appointments a month, and a response-time badge that kept slipping because the owner was on a job site and the office manager was on the phone.
The company tried the usual fixes. A shared phone. A part-time answering service that could not tell an emergency from a quote request. A reminder to check Yelp every hour, which lasted about a week. Leads that came in at 9 AM got answered at 6 PM, and by 6 PM the homeowner had hired someone else.
So the company built what it wished it could buy: something that read every Yelp message the moment it arrived, parked the pitches (that became Lightning Rod, the spam screen), replied to the customers in the company's own words (Strike First and Live Wire), and kept following up until the appointment was on the calendar (Boomerang). Then it looked at which Yelp keywords were paying for themselves and turned the rest off, which is where Throttle came from.
Within a few months the response rate was 100%, the response time was under a minute, and other contractors were asking what the company was using. That is when it became LeadBolt. It still runs that company every day, which is the best quality assurance program we know of.
What we believe
Four things we will not compromise on
Speed is the product
Every feature is judged by whether it gets a customer answered faster or a job booked sooner. If it does neither, it does not ship.
Nothing hidden from the owner
Every automated message is labeled. Every ad change shows its numbers. You should never wonder what the software said in your name.
Measured in jobs, not leads
Lead vendors count leads because leads are easy to count. We count appointments and revenue, because that is what pays for the trucks.
Built for people who work outside
Big buttons, short messages, phone first. It has to work with one thumb, in the sun, with gloves nearby.
Talk to a person
Questions about fit, a source that is not on the integrations page yet, or a contractor-specific problem you think software could solve. We read every message, and we answer the interesting ones with a phone call. The FAQ covers the common ones.
